September is Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month

JewelRide Joins the Cause

High Fives Foundation Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month

September is more than just the start of a new season—it’s also National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month (SCI). This is a time dedicated to honoring the strength and resilience of those living with spinal cord injuries and their families. At JewelRide, we are proud to be part of this important conversation and to contribute to a cause that is at the heart of our mission: empowering independence.

We are excited to announce our participation in a special Community Resource session at The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis. This event provides a unique opportunity to connect directly with patients, staff, and families, offering valuable support during their recovery journey.

Empowering Patients with Accessible Transportation

For individuals recovering from a spinal cord injury, the path to independence can be challenging. A key part of this journey is having access to reliable and accessible transportation. It’s often the missing link that allows a patient to transition from inpatient care back to their home and community life. Our VP of Sales & Marketing, Jennifer Bagwell, will be available to discuss how JewelRide’s services can fill this critical need. She’ll provide information and resources to help patients and their families understand the transportation options available to them, making their return home smoother and more confident.

Beyond the Hospital: A Focus on Community Re-Entry

JewelRide Van CabinWhile inpatient rehabilitation is a crucial step, the real test of independence begins when a person returns home. That’s why events like this resource fair are so vital.

The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis does an incredible job of not just treating patients, but also preparing them for life after the hospital. By bringing together organizations that provide ongoing support, they are helping to build a comprehensive network that extends far beyond the hospital walls.

“Accessible transportation isn’t just about getting from point A to point B; it’s about reconnecting with community, attending follow-up appointments, and living a full, active life. We are honored to contribute to this important community effort and stand with those impacted by spinal cord injuries. We believe that by working together, we can help build a more inclusive and accessible future for everyone.” — Jennifer Bagwell, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, JewelRide
